Dr. James Comrie

Veterinarian/Owner

Jim is a native of Minnedosa, born and raised in the community, and purchased the veterinary practice in June 1986. Graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983, he began his career as a veterinarian in Souris, MB. He enjoys serving all species of animal, but most enjoys providing care for livestock. He is pleased that Dr. Troy Gowan has joined him as business partner in 2017. His family of four are now young adults, pursuing their own dreams, and he enjoys managing his small mixed farm, with annual crop production and a commercial beef herd. Free time finds him pursuing a passion for musical theatre and participation in community choral groups.

Dr. Troy Gowan

Veterinarian/Owner

Troy joined us following his graduation from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. He hails from the Arden area, growing up on a family feedlot operation. He and his wife live on a small acreage outside of Minnedosa with their 2 dogs and 3 cats. They are currently enjoying the challenge of renovating a century old home. He nurtures a special interest in equine medicine and reproduction, but capably handles all that this mixed animal practice has to offer. He entered into partnership with Dr. Comrie in August of 2017.

Dr. Regan Skelton

Veterinarian/Owner

Regan joined our practice in 2005, having gained experience in mixed animal practice in Alberta and Saskatchewan following her graduation from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She and her husband, their two daughters and a multitude of pets recently moved to an acreage nearby, enjoying all that country living has to offer. Regan focuses primarily on small animal care in our practice but is totally prepared to manage any large animal challenge presented. She is a native of Virden and is now pleased to call Minnedosa home.

Hayleigh Maximchuk

Registered Veterinary Technician

Hayleigh joined our practice in 2010 following graduation from LakelandCollege at Vermilion, Alberta. She comes from the Brandon area, but currently shares her Newdale home with three four-legged family members. Aside from her devotion toward animal health technology she enjoys helping local rescues, crocheting and cooking.

Karen Bramley

Registered Veterinary Technician

Karen came to work for Dr. Comrie as an animal health technologist in the summer of 1988. She lived most of her early life in Winnipeg, but realized as an adult that rural life was calling her. She married a local dairyman not many years later, and they continue to live on their farm east of town. She is a devoted community volunteer in many capacities, and shares a passion with her husband and son for the great outdoors. She graduated from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology at Saskatoon in 1986.

Kathy Soltys

Registered Veterinary Technician

Kathy is a native of Beaumont, Alberta, achieving her animal health technologist designation from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. She worked in a number of veterinary practices in Alberta and BC prior to her move to Manitoba. She and her husband and two young sons make their home in Erickson, where they share their lives with several pets. She enjoys working with her horse and volunteers with the school parent advisory council. Kathy joined our team in 2006, and is very capable in all aspects of her position.
